Our Café has a new Front of House Manager – Shontell is taking over Eva’s role. We’ll miss Eva. She’s done a remarkable job at only 19 years old, but now she’s off to holiday in Greece! Lucky girl! However I’m sure we are good hands with Shontell.
Our Kitchen Manager, Annie, returns during the week from her holiday in Europe. She’s been away for 5 weeks and we are all counting down the days …. However I’m proud of the team for pulling through without her, especially with Covid and flu that many staff have suffered from over the last few weeks.

Our First Sip & Swing Social at the Cafe
We've noticed many locals joining evening dance classes, so we decided to create a social event for those eager to showcase their six-step swing moves! Our first Sip & Swing Social will take place this coming Friday at the Café.
The evening will feature a mix of pre-recorded swing music mostly from the 1930's & 40's (and a few modern tunes) plus a live set by Nostaljam.

Even if you're not confident in your dancing, come and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Drinks and food will be served at the café and nearby food stalls.

Saturday’s Market 22 June
Musicians on the front stage are the Uke Bandits – a group of talented locals playing the ukelele and vocals. It’s always fun and our customers love it.
On the side stage we have Eru Wano who is a music teacher from Hokianga and a very talented musician. Eru usually brings one or two of his students and its always great.
Sunday’s Market 23 June
Matariki Pēwhairangi Festival will be presenting experiences and feasts all over the Bay of Islands this June and July, with the programme starting on Friday 21 June, the Winter Solstice, and continuing until 14 July.
One of the events within this Festival is the Rongoa Maori & Wellness Expo being held at The Old Packhouse Market on Sunday 23 June from 9am till 3pm.
Many of the usual vendors will still be exhibiting at the Market on this day – with our bakery, café and butchery/deli open.
